IOF’S GOT TALENT

Join the fun and energy of the IOF’S GOT TALENT contest, a 3-minute challenge where young investigators take the spotlight! Dazzle the judges! Grab the audience’s attention with your passion while you show why your research matters with style, clarity, and impact.

This thrilling contest will take place during a special session at the WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2025 Congress in beautiful Rome (April 11–13, 2025). Don't miss your chance to shine on April 12, 2025!

It’s a fun and effective way to show off your research in the bone, joint and muscle field in front of Key Opinion Leaders and an international audience.

The time limit is strict: each candidate has 180 seconds and one slide (or other suitable media) to convince the jury and delegates with a concise, clear and straightforward presentation that explains their research and why it matters. Note that the contest is not structured as a traditional scientific presentation with a Q&A session following the presentation.

Among the applicants, a pre-jury will select 10 candidates to present in a 45-minute session. Following the presentations, three winners will be selected by the jury, comprising international leading experts in the field.

All presenters will receive a certificate of attendance (great for your CV!), and a recording of their presentation. The three winners selected by the jury will, in addition, receive a free registration for the next WCO-IOF-ESCEO Congress in Prague, Czech Republic, from April 16-19, 2026, and the audience’s favourite will be presented with an IOF trophy.

The 10 selected presenters will be notified in February 2025.

How It Works

  • You have 180 seconds to present your research topic and convince the judges it matters while standing at the podium.
  • A timer will count down the time from 180 seconds to 0. It will be positioned in front of you and be visible.
  • In case you want to practice, the timer that will be used for the competition is available: https://www.osteoporosis.foundation/iof-s-got-talent-timer
  • A "Timekeeper" will be positioned at a visible location. The timekeeper will ensure you are ready to begin your presentation and will do a 3-2-1 countdown before a beep sounds and the clock begins the countdown from 180.
  • A beeper will sound when the 180 seconds are up (not a single tolerance second will be allowed).
